Satellite of Love Cake

Did you ever think that a dog bone cake pan would make a awesome pan to make the Satellite of Love into a cake? Well, I finally did it! It came out delicious that it was gone within the night! I originally wanted to make a cake replica of the Satellite of Love when I started the blog. Now I can share that replica with you. Here is what you will need:

  • Dog Bone Cake Pan (preferably a large pan)
  • 1 box of Pillsbury Funfetti cake mix (It is like having an interior to the replica.)
  • 1 cup of water
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • 3 whole eggs or 4 egg whites
  • Pan spray for non-sticking
  • 1/2 cup of flour
  • White frosting
  • Black icing pen
  • Frosting knife
  • Toothpicks
  • Oven
  • Mixer

Now to start baking your legendary MST3K spacecraft:

  1. Set oven to 350° F
  2. Coat pan with non-stick spray
  3. Sprinkle flour dusting on cake pan spray
  4. Mix cake mix with oil and eggs
  5. Beat them with mixer on medium for 2 minutes
  6. Place in oven for times listed on Funfetti box based on the size of your pan. (I baked it for 38 to 43 minutes.
  7. Place toothpick in cake until it is not covered in mix.
  8. Remove and let cool for 15 minutes.
  9. Once cool begin decorating cake. (You can look up a picture online of the Satellite of Love or you can try my design.

Once it is decorated, you have a cake that is able to launch into space! Enjoy!
