The Master’s Wedding Cake

It is at the height of wedding season and why not celebrate the big day with a cake that shows your love is “The will of Manos!”. The iconic set of the cult’s ceremony spot from movie from “Manos: The Hands of Fate” is memorable to any MSTie or audience who has seen the film. I set out to make a cake that both honors the film and is fun to make. Here’s what you will need to make a cake The Master would approve of:

  • Vanilla “Funfetti” cake mix (for the sand battles with your multiple wives)
  • White frosting
  • Black icing pen
  • Candle (the more fiery the color is better)
  • Rice crispy treat
  • Model pillars
  • 6 to 8 toothpicks
  • 8″ x 8″ square aluminum cake pan
  • 1 cup water
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • Mixer bowl
  • Whisk
  • Cookie sheet

Now to mix up your batter (and not your hair in the sand!)

  1. Add 1 cup of water to mixer bowl
  2. Pour 1/2 cup of oil in bowl
  3. Break 3 eggs into bowl
  4. Beat ingredients in bowl with whisk by hand until well mixed (If you do not mix it by hand, it would not be fateful!)

Next: Prepare the sacrifice of the pan in the oven!

  1. Spray pan with nonstick cooking spray
  2. Preheat oven to 350° F

Now to bake the cake:

  1. Pour cake batter into pan
  2. Place pan on cookie sheet
  3. Bake for 34 to 38 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean from cake
  4. Remove from oven
  5. Let cool for 10 to 15 minutes

To decorate the motel, I mean, cake!

  1. Slide cake out of pan
  2. Place rice crispy treat in back middle of cake
  3. Frost with white frosting all over including over rice crispy treat
  4. Place pillars in the four corners of cake.
  5. Stick toothpicks in center of cake with candle (spread them out enough that you won’t burn your hand off!)
  6. Put candle in center
  7. Use icing pen to make outside of fire pit

Now you are ready for a wedding for a couple that is “the will of Manos!”
